The final competition for the champion sh : p of the Otiigo Golf Club was played of this week, when Mr A. H. FiFher sue ceeded in defeating Mr H. D. Stronach and secured the championship. At a meeting of the Management Com .mittee of the New Zealand Hockey Association it was reported that the Governor hid accepted the position of patron. A letter was read from the Wellington Hockey Association a l kin;i that the North v. South Island match should be played in Christchurch, and it was decided to accede to the request, the match to be played at Lancaster Park on June 18. It was reported that the secretary was in communication with the Auckland Club with the view to the formation of an association in that district.
