MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Dunedin Lodge, M.U., was held on Thursday, N.G. Bro. C. G. 0. Naumann presiding. One candidate was initiated. The N.G. reported on the district meeting at Naseby. P.G. Bro. F. Tretheway (Loyal 1 Catherine Lodge, Bendigo), Bro. Kirby ; (Loyal Naseby Lodge), P.G.M. Bro. Wil- '■ son (Loyal Gaversham), and P.G. Bro. T. ! Flynn (Hand and Heart) responded to the : second toast. P.P.G.M. Garrow, P.G.M. . Wilson, and D.P.G.M. Broadfoot responded ’on behalf of the district. Receipts, £22 r ss lOd. At the Wanganui meeting of the Grand this Grand Lodge, in session assembled, protest against any extension of time between the taking of the Local Option poll.” It was resolved that the proposals of the Grand Lodge Executive to celebrate the jubilee of Good Templaiy bv the raising of a fund of £SOO be adopted, and the hope expressed that the proposal will be taken up by every lodge in New Zealand'; such fund to be kept separate from the ordinary income, but as soon as success is assured the Executive to be empowered to appoint a travelling agent to visit every lodge and district and endeavor to reopen old and strengthen existing lodges.
