GAOLERS' APPOINTMENTS.

[Spsciii. to thb Sxak.] WELLINGTON, March 9. I have official authority for stating that Gaoler Bratby (Invercargill) has been appointed to succeed Mr S. C. Phillips as gaoler at Dunedin, the latter retiring from the service. Principal-warder Armstrong, Dunedin, is promoted to fill the vacancy at Invercargill. Mr Bratby, who joined the service in 1872, has been stationed at Invercargill since 1889. The salary attached to his new duties starts at £SOO. Both appointments date from April 1.
