A railway official. during a recent lecture stated that it cost his company each year about £2OO for pins, ■'• £I,OOO for rubber bands, £I,OOO. for ink, £1,400 for lead pencils; also tbat it cost nearly as much for stationery to carry on tie business as ier iron.
