SHIPKA PASS.

THE NATIONAL MEMORIAL.

Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.

ST. PETERSBURG, September 29. The Grand Duke Nicholas of Russia, Prince Ferdinand of Bulgaria, and General Ignatieff participated in the celebrations on the completion of the Memorial Church, Shipka Pass. The Metropolitan of Starazogora took a leading part in the consecration ceremony on an equality with the Russian clergy. This would indicate that the independence of tho Bulgarian Church had been recognised, contrary to the Greek patriarchs' decision in 1872.
