The Minister agteed to a proportion fey Mr Millar that the holder of a third class river engineer’s certificate, issued under the Shipping and Seamen’s Act, shall be deemed to be the holder of a second class certificate under section 42 of the present l ßill. A proviso was added to clause 45 td meet exceptional Cases where men have for two years been in charge of ten horse-power boilers or over on dredges. These men will now be entitled to limited certificates. AN OPPOSITION HOUSE-WARMING, In deference to the wishes of the Opposition, who have been invited .as a party by Mr John Duthie to a house-warming at the Hutt to-morrow, the proposed Saturday sitting has been abandoned. TO-DAY’S BUSINESS. Questions will not be answered to-day, the House at once proceeding to the committee stage on the Factories and .Workers’ Compensation for Accident Amendment Bilik
