[Brscua. to tub Stab.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 5. Mr Charles Lewis, one of the candidates for Courtenay, began his election campaign at Kirwee on Monday, and continued it at Prebbleton last night. He claimed that he was a Liberal, bnt declared himself, as of old, an out-and-oat opponent of the present Government. Ho was accorded a vote of thanks. - Mr A. W. Ruiherionl, a candidate for the Ashley seat, is vigorously conducting h's election campaign, and has already addressed two meetings.
