MUST BE GIVEN TO STATE-OWNED MILLS. THE GOVERNMENT AGAIN DEFEATED. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, June 19., In the Federal House, when the Bonus Bill was under consideration, the Leader of the Labor party moved an amendment to the effect that the bonus be now only paid to State-owned mills The Government, realising that the amendment was largely supported, sought to compromise by giving the States two years in which to declare their intention of establishing a State industry.
