At a meeting of the Southern StarrBowkett Society last night the appropriation by ballot of £SOO and by sale of a similar sum resulted as follows :—Ballot, winning cluster No. 94, held by one member; sale, £3OO at £SO, £IOO at £2B, and £IOO at 25 per cent, premium.

SYDNEY, February 7.—One or two leading butter mere hanks here are satisfied that no leading importers would lend themselves to the falsification of butter brands. In the case of butter imported in hulk to bond, and afterwards made up in tins, there might be some grounds for complaint, but butter so packed would be lor tbe South African market.
