MORNINGTON BRASS BAND
The first of :i series of musical evenings which the band intend giving daring the year was held last night in the High street School Gymnasium Hall, when there was a large attendance. Mr J. F. Arnold, M.H.R., occupied the chair, and in his opening remarks exp’ained the object the band nad in view—namely, enlisting the sympathy and support of the residents. During the evening the following contributed the musical programme:— Selection by the band, ‘ Songs of Scotland’; song, Miss Swanson ; duet, Messrs T. and Jos" Holgate; step dance, Miss M‘Cormack; song, Mr H. Drake; song, Mr Jos. Holgate; recitation, Mr M’Cormack; selection by the band, ‘Gems of Operatic Melody.’ At the close the chairman proposed a. hearty vote of thanks to all who had assisted in making tho entertainment so enjoyable and successful.
