JEAN GERARDY.
One of the greatest artists that have ever vi.-iited Australasia—Jean Oerardy, the wizard of the violoncello, whose brilliant and magnificent performances in our City caused such a furore a few months ago —■ is arranging another tour, which, according to letters received by Mr John H. Tait, of Melbourne, from Mr A. H. Caulcy (who controlled the previous tour), is to start in Melbourne about July next. If time permits, .the world-famous artist will also visit Sydney, Adelaide, West Australia, and Queensland, and, of course, New Zealand ; and the season in this colony will be in September and October. American newspaper files indicate that Gerardy is being lionised wherever he appears, his principal engagements being as soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, one of the biggest musical institutions in the States, the Pittsburgh Society, and other big combinations. Gerardy's return visit will be looked forward to with much interest, especially as he will bring a pianist and a vocalist, with him from America.
