CHILDREN'S SAVAGE DUEL

A duel two children, which mar yet end fatally - one of the young combatants, has been fought in a. village near Paris. Their ages arc respectively ten and eight, afid they recently quarrelled. As the affair was regarded as a matter of honor, their playmates insisted upon the appointment of seconds with a, view to arranging a duel. The seconds wen; dulyappointed, and exchanged views on the matter, the outcome being that a duel was decided upon, the conibatants selecting daggers in the choice of arms. Several fierce encounters seem to have been fought on the day of the duel before the yonuger child plunged his dagger into the breast of his rival, inflicting so serious a wound that the boy’s life is despaired of.—‘ St. James's Gazette.’
