OTAGO LAND BOARD.

Yesterday's meeting of the above Board was attended by Mr D. Barron (Chief Commissioner) and Commissioners Duncan, Kirkpatrick, Clark,, and Dallas. The Board decided that the following sections in the town of Manuherikia should be held over for consideration until the adjoining lands are subdivided:—Sections 2 to 12, block 1; 3 to 12, block 2; 1, 7to 10. block 3; Ito 7, block 4; 2, block 5; 1, 3 to 6, 8, block 6; 4 to 8, block 7. The Board decided that- sections 1; 5, 5, 19, and 20, block 1, Tiger Hill district, should be subdivided into suburban land; also balance of township to be surveyed into convenient areas. Frederick Butler applied for an occupation lease, 80 acres, in block 7, Teviot district. —Granted, subject to survey. I Thomas Dromgoole, who Jiad been called upon to show cause why his l.i.p. over section 100. Maerewhcnua Estate, should not be declared forfeited for his non-compliance with the residence condition, was granted exemption from residence until December \ 31 next. In regard to the objection by R. M'Ara in sections 19, 20, and 21, block 16, town of Havelock being sold, the warden stated it was undesirable that the said sections be sold.—Decided that minute of Jidy 31 be rescinded, so far as. it applied to these sections. Ranger Hughan reported on the application by Hans Peter Frus for an occupation lease under the Mining Districts Land Occupation Act over section 42, block 5, Tuapeka East district; also on an application by John Blair for a similar lease, under the same Act over 11 acres of the said section. —Adjourned for consideration at next meeting of the Board. •The Board resolved that in reference to section 16. block 7, Swinburn district, at present, held under temporary license by Mrs W. J. Simpkin, a temporary., license be extended for six months. Assistant-ranger O'Neill reported on the village homestead sections jn block 11, Glenkenich district, and it was decided that A. S. Edgar (section 82). W. T. Hancock (section 90), and John Smith (section 92) be called on to show cause why their holdings should not be forfeited for non-com-pliance with the residence conditions. Ranger Mackenzie; forwarded a further report, on the improvements on run No. 354, Nevis, and the valuations for improvements were reduced by £2 10s. Ranger Mackenzie reported on the application by Susan ■ Kroll for an occupation lease under the Alining Districts Land Occupation Act. 1894, over about 27 acres in block 1, Nevis district, run 339.—Adjourned- for a. fortnight. Ranger Mackenzie reported that no improvements have been effected on section i 51, block 14, Lower Wanaka district, re- | cently held under village homestead system by William M'Callnm.—Received. j Robert Studholme applied for 150 acres, being part of sectiou 5, block 3, Lower Wanaka district.—Ranger Mackenzie forwarded a. further report.—Approved : capital value 10s per acre, survey fees to be paid in addition to the prairie" value of the land. Ranger Mackenzie forwarded a report on the application by John Daley for an occupation lea.se over 26 acres. in block 8, Leaning Rock district.—Approved; rental, 6d per acre. John Sheehy applied for a. grazing license over about 10 acres of land in block 1L Leaning Rock district.—Declined. An application for occupation lease under the Mining Districts Land Occupation Act,, Wm. S. Craig. 25 acres, part of section 1, block 5, Teviot, district, was approved. An application for rural land for cash, John Pulla.r, section 26. block 6, Glenomaru district was approved; title to issue. Applications to transfer occupation lease, Mary Duffy to Catherine Greanev, sections 27 and 29. block 10. Marnwenua district; lease-in-perpetuity, Robert MlArthur to James M'Arthur, jun, section 5. block 4, Leaning Rook district, were approved. An application to complete purchase of deferred-payment license. John 'Mitchell sections 9 and 10. block 8. Warepa dis-' trict, was approved; title to issue. J. J.
