The building would be erected at a probable expenditare of from £SO to £6O, would be constructed of wood with a concrete floor, and the design generally to be of an ornamental character. I have made an examination of the Town Belt road from the Roslyn tramway bridge to the main Serpentine avenue road, and find that in places this roadway is in a very bad condition, the whole of the metal having been worn away, and exposing tho clay formation. A considerable extent of this roadway will require to be re-formed and remetaUcd, the estimated expenditure being approximately £115.' I desire to invito your attention to the very bad and even dangerous condition of Serpentuw avenue in that section which passes through the Town Belt leading to Mqrnington. The whole of the metal is practically worn away, exposing the clay formation, and the effect of- the traffic has been such a-s to cause this section of the road to become similar to a ploughed field. I may mention that it is in a somewhat similar condition to the West Taieri road, previously the subject of correspondence with Roslyn Borough Council. The roadway referred to will require to bo re-formed, pitched with a stone foundation, and laid with newmetal, the cost of tin work being approximately £175." • The General Committe report as follows :—Your Committee beg to report that during the past month ended August 31, 916 cattle, 6,729 sheep, 5265 lambs. 362 pigs, and 84 calves were slaughtered at the abattoir, of which 7 cattle, 2 calves, and 1 «heep were condemned as unfit for food.
