The Christchurch City Council have decided to ask the Government to appoint one local body there to control the proposed abattoirs.- This action is taken because other bodies had threatened to start abattoirs of their own. Steps will be taken by the municipal authorities to establish a public fish market in Christchtrrch, and a site will be selected soon.
