CALEDONIA BOWLING CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Caledonian Bowling Clnb, held last evening at the Shamrock Hotel, was attended by about fifty members. Mr J. A. Kirby (vice-presi-dent), in the absence of Mr W. Dawson (president), presided. The report of the Committee for the year srtated that the club was in a flourishing condition, the membership keeping up and the finances being quite sufficient to meet all liabilities The season had not been a good one for bowling, owing to bad weather. Mr Greenslade, immediately upon his return from Home, had presented the club with a splendid new flag—a Union Jack. The club, although represented by three rinks at the annual tournament in Christchurch, were not successful in winning any prizes. The club were equally unsuccessful at the Invercargill tournament, and were not represented at Oamaru. In local interclub matches the club had just about held their own. The club's own prize-winners for the season were: President's prize (double-handed)—A. Morrison, M.H.R and S. Davis 1, G. Capstick and W. A.' Smith 2, J. Cowie and J. Smeaton 3. Patrons' prize (single-handed)—J. D. Yates 1, J. Collins 2. Champion bowls—G. Wedderspoon 1, J. D. Yates 2. Senior prize—J. Anderson 1, A. Yates 2. Rink medals—G. Rice, M. Coughlan, C. v Keast, A. Morrison (skip). Double-handed subscription match—J. Roberts and A. Morrison. Prize for young players—J. Anderson. The Committee noted with regret the death of Captain Milne and Mr Walter Carlton, ex-members of the club, and also that Mr John Evans had been bereaved of his helpmate. Collins (re-elected); auditors, Messrs R. Lowrio and C. Thomson (reelected) ; delegates to Bowling Association, Messrs J. A. Kirby and T. R. Dodds; <green superintendent, Mr J. Wedderspoon (re-elected); Match Committee—Messrs T. R. DoddSj J. Roberts, and E. Hogg. • After formal business the members sat down to a liberal spread, and toast and song were indulged in for several hours.
