(Received August 31, at 9.40 a.m.) Island news states that through a tidal wave the Santo Cruz group of villages, on a reef of islands, suffered badly. A number of natives were drowned, and much property destroyed The head - hunting tribes in the Solomons are being punished. Several of their best war canoes have been captured, and otherwise they are being taught 1 many severe lessons.
