AUCKLAND v. OTAGO.
The Otago Football Association Aero favored with the finest weather of the season for their representative match against the Auckland Association, and a large number witnessed the contest, which took place at the Cansbrook Ground this afternoon. Both teams wete in fine fettle, for the Aucklanders suffered no ill effects from their passage South, and their practice yesterdav on the Carisbrook Ground was sufficient to put them in form. Certainly no more favorable conditions for a scientific exposition of the Association game could have been obtained. Mr P. Peters acted as referee, and the teams, whose names and weights were published yesterday, played in the positions there stated. A. Dacro captained the Auckland team, and S. M'Mfflau Otago. Yesterday the Auckland representatives were driven up the Woodhaugh Valley, and visited the Waterfalls, and they expressed themselves delighted with the scenery. vLast evening both the Auckland and Otago teams were the guests of Mr Dix at the Alhambra, while for to-night Mr Pollard lias extended an invitation to them to witness the production of 'Paul Jones' by his company. On Sunday the Otago Football Associatioa have arranged for an outing to Outram for the two.teams, which, if the present favorable weather continues, ought to prove most enjoyable. At half-time the score was: Otago 4 goals, Auckland 1 goal. Otago's goals were scored by Chadwick (2), Morrison, and S. Brown.
