IHE COUNCIL OF THE BOROUGH OF - "SOUTH DUNEDIN have RESOLVED to RAISE A SPECIAL LOAN of £1,500, en the security of the General Rates of the paid Borough, to be repayable on the first day of. December, 1922, and for the purpose of securing the payment of the said Loan and Interest to issue Fifteen Debentures for £IOO each, -with Coupons for Interest attached, such Principal and Interest Moneys jo he payable at. the Bank of New Zealand in Dunedin, Christchurch, . Wellington, or Auckland. THE COUNCIL accordingly INVITE TENDERS for the said Debentures, upon and subject to the following conditions: (a) Tenderers to state in their tenders the rate of interest required. (b) Tenders to be forwarded to the Town Clerk at his office. (c) The balance of the tender (if accepted), or to such amount as shall be accepted, to be paid to the Town Clerk at the office of the borough solicitors, Messrs Mondy, Sim, and Stephens, 123 Princeß Ktreet, Dunedin, on the first day of October next, in exchange for a debenture or debentures. The rateable value of the property in the borough for 1901-1902 is £23,101. The Council has power to raise up to 2s in the £ for general rate, the present general rate being Is 3d in the S. The existing loans charged on the general rates amount to £IO,OOO, with an interest charge aggregating £SOO. The general public works of the borough—such as street formation, footpaths, drainage, and waterworks—are complete. The Loan is" raised for the purpose cf paying off a loan for a similar amount falling due in London on First December next.
