At the.polo sports in Potter's paddock, Auckland, an Saturday, thß pony Roy, owned and ridden by J. Russell, bolted, and jumped a fe'.ioe sft 6in high, landing on an* other ponv on the jnsido of the enclosure, Roy was killed; but Russell, his rider, escaped with (t severe shaking, CBRISTCHtIRCH, April 1. Th« man found drowned in the Avon on the 6th of last month h.as been identified as James M'Gyath, who used to live in a tent by himself at J,adbroek«, He was identified by a photograph and his watch. iij .-'.
