Mails close at the Chief Port Office, Dunedin, subject to any necessary alterations, as under;— Overland, North, daily, 10.20 aon. Late letters, 10.46; also on the mail van up te 11 a.m. Books and newspapers, 10 a,m. i Late-fee letters must bear, in addition to the ordinary postage—ld for inland letters, 2d for letters for Australia and the Booth oea Islands, and, 2Jd for foreign countries. MONDAY, APRIL 1. For Wellington and the North. Per Kumara, at 6 a.m. * TUESDAY, APRIL 2. For Northern Ports,—Per Maraxoa, at 2 p.m. For Australian Colonies (via Hobart), India, China, Straits Settlements, South Africa, Mauritius. Mediterranean Ports, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc. —Per South express, to connect with - the Waihora at the Bluff, at 8 a.m. Due in London, May 12. Registered letters at 5 p.m. on’ the Ist, and money orders at 4 p.m. on the Ist. Parcels for Australia close at 5 p.m. on the Ist. Correspondence for the United Kingdom to bo specially addressed via Melbourne. . -.- GOOD FRIDAY. Good Friday will be observed as a, close holiday. All mails usually despatched on that date will be dosed at 8 p.m. on Thursday, 4th April. On Easter Monday the usual despatch, of mails will be made up to 10 a.m. The office wiU be open from 9 to 10 a.m. only. Thera will be no delivery by letter 'carriers, but correspondence will be delivered over the .counter up to 10 a.m. , Mails for Natal and Cape Town, per ,Warrigal, from Sydney, on the Ist April. Mails for Nine Islands will dose at Anckr land on the 2nd April, at 3 p.m. -.. Mails for the United Kingdom and Continent of Europe - specially addressed, per Karamea via Monte Video, will dose at Auckland on the 3rd, at 11 a.m. For Natal and Cape Town, from Melbourne, per Afrio, Bth May. , Mafia for Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji dose at Auckland on the 10th April, at 4 p.m... 1 Note.—The postage on letters to Australia will remain at twopence. Letters, prepaid one penny will be surcharged. ' The public are cautioned against; enclosing insets in newspapers. ~.. The penny postage is now also eextended to Italy, Egypt, Portugal, Costa Rica, Mexico, Switzerland, Chili, Nicaragua, Peru, and Paraguay. Discount stamps at one farthing may now be procured at stamp counter, C.P.0., on application‘for a quantity of not less'than ss. These stamps cannot be used'for letters or telegrams. Enin).
