THE CITY TRAMWAYS.
The Corporation take possession of the City tramways to-morrow, but the formal handing over will not take place till Monday. From noon on l„,..,dajr the citizens are to be invited to -iravel free on all sections of the line.
The appointment of Mr Eunsou as tramway manager is to be revived at Wednesday's meeting of the City Council, as two noticeshave been tabled traversing it. Cr Howlison is to move—" That the resolution of the Council of the 6th March. 1901, adopting the Special Tramways Committee's Report of that date be rescinded in so far as it relates to sub-clause 1 of clause. 1 of that report, recommending the. appointment of Mr J). R. Eunson as general manager of the Dunedin City and suburban tramways, when taken over by the City Council, at"a salnrv at the rate of £6OO per annum/' Cr Christopher is to tuove —"That applications for the position of manager of the Dunedin City and suburban tramways be advertised for at a salary not exceeding £4OO per annum."
