MUNICIPAL.

St. Kilda.—Mayor Mitchell presided over last night's meeting of the St. Kilda Borough Council.—The Chief Health Officer forwarded a lengthy circular calling attention to the provisions of the Health Act and the treatment of infectious diseases. After discussion, the opinion was come to that it was the duty of the Hospital Board to provide some hospital accommodation for the reception of such diseases.—Mr J. F. M. Fraser wrote offering to contribute towards the forming of a cycling track at the* back of the Forbury racecourse. Inspector to see Mr Fraser with regard to the matter.— It was resolved that the mayor and two councillors sign the special burgess list for the poll for the loan to be taken on the 30th inst.—Cr Sandiland's motions with regard to the adjustment of the names of streets and the placing of name plates on the corners were left over.till next meeting.
