CYCLISTS.
TO THE KDITOE. tjirt,—Being frequently on tne juower Portobello road, I have noted that whilst the great majority of cyclists observe all caution by keeping on the waterside when passing vehicles, others, again, ignore the faot that they may occasion a serious accident by hugging the inside. As courtesy does not appeal to this t«rt of person, perhaps their being made acquainted with the fact that there is a by-law which compels them to keep on the waterside may do so. Itwa3 this sort of thing and the consequent danger entailed which caused the opposition to this road being open to cyclists. Now that it is open, and undoubtedly the most pleasant road around Dunedin, it is to be hoped that all oyelists will remember that an accident attributable to a bicycle might at any time cause it to bo closed again.—l am, etc., Jehu. .
