WELLINGTON, Januarv 22. The anniversary of Wellington province is boiiig celebrated to-day by the observance of a general holiday. The principal event is the Port Nicholson Yacht Club'a regatta, in wh : eh interest centres in the raca between Rainbow of Auckland and Waitongi of Wellington. On the first ronnd of the coura? Rainbow was 9miu ahead of Waitangi, and unless a mishap occurs she must win e»3ily, Atlanta won the eecoad class raco, with Siren second.
