Mails -close at the Chief Post Office, Dunsdin, subject to any necessary alterations, as under:—
Overland, North, daily, 10.20 a.m. Late letters, 10.45; also on the mail van up to 11 a.m. Books and newspapers, 10 a.m. Late-fee letters must bear, in addition to tho ordinary postage —Id for inland letters, 2d for letters for Australia and the South Sea Islands, and for foreign countries. WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 23. For Australian Colonies via Hobart, India, China, Straits Settlements, South Africa, Mauritius, Mediterranean Ports, Continent of Europe, United Kingdom, etc., at 2.35 p.m. Late letters guard's van, 3.35 p.m. train. Doe in London March 3. Money orders and registered letters close at 1.30 p.m. THURSDAY, JANUARY 21. For Northern Ports.—Per Monowai, at 4 p.m. FRIDAY, JANUARY 25. For Australian Colonies, except Tasmania. —Per North express, to connect with the Monowai, at ID a>m. Mail for Norfolk Island will close at Auckland on the 22nd. Mails for Natal and Cape Town, per Aberdeen, on the 22nd, and Gulf of Bothnia, from Melbourne, January 27. Note.—The postage on letters to Australia will remain at twopence; letters prepaid one penny will be surcharged. Edmd. Cook. Chief Postmaster.
