The future Emperor made no further remark, but as years went oh he lost no opportuuit} of seeing his fair "consin "; and, in spite c! | the fact that the eourse of true love did not I run very smooth, the Czuewich ended it;! haying his own w»y, and his engagement to Princess Alix of Hesse was aunounced ou the occasion of the wedding of Princes--Victoria of Coburg with the Grand Duke Ernest of Hesse.
