GOOD SUGGESTIONS.
Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.
SYDNEY, January 20,
Mr Seddon has received a letter from the Premier of Victoria enclosing a suggestion from the Trades Hall that the Imperial Government should be requested to take steps to legislate for the Orange and Transvaal colonies in the way of regulating labor. Natal and the Cape already have legislation on the lines of New Zealand. ° Mr Seddon intends to consult his colleagues with a view to giving effect to tie request. The Trades Hall desires the prohibition of forced labor among the Natives, the prohibition of importation of Asiatics, or the contracting of labor from abroad, and the prohibition of intoxicants among the Natives.
