LATE MINING.
Tie secretary Otama Gold Dredging Company reports having received the following telegram from the dredge - master : " Started dredging la-st night; everything "working well."
Twenty Otago and Southland dredges liave, so far, reported returns for the week ended Januarv 19, tho total return bein" 4720z 7dwt 4gr. The engine and boiler for the Morven Ferry dredge have arrived, and will go for-■wa-rd to the claim forthwith. The machinery is now all completed, and will be shipped shortly from Melbourne. The pontoons should be ready on arrival of the .jnacbinery.
