ROWING.

A meeting of the Otago Rowing Association was held in the Dunedin Club’s rooms last evening Mr L. R. Wilson occupied , lr ’ ,ere W:IS a good attendance of delegates. Communications were received from the North End and Dunedin Amateur Boating Clubs placing their eightoared boats at the Association’s disposal for the annual inter-club eight-oar contest. It was resolved that the eight-oar tournament take place on Saturday afternoon, January 26, the first heat being fixed to start at 2.50 p.m. .and the second heat immediately after. Both boats will be housed in ’the ' Otago Club s shed on the Thursday night previous to the racing, so no time should be lost Messrs L. R. Wilson and W. J. P Hodgkins were appointed a sub-committee for the management of the tournament, and to take charge of the boats and have any necessary repairs effected. Strokes of crews are to draw for boats and positions in the presence of the sub-committee. If was resolved that in the event of a crew withdrawing the crew secnring the bye should take their place. Badges similar to those awarded two years ago are to be presented to the winning crew. The following draws then took place : —First round ; First heat Otago B C. meets D.A.B.C. ; second heat! I ort Chalmers R.C. meets N.E.B.C. • Q.D.B.C a bye. Second round: The winners of the second heat to meet the Q.D.B.C. The final to take place at 450 p.m. It was decided to have a practice "hr. race between the heats of the eiglrt-oared tournament, the crews to be composed of members of clubs not rowing in the eights ; and that not more than two members of anyone club he in the same crew. This rare will probably be rowed at 3.15 p.m.
