PERSONAL.
Miss Alice Downes, 8.A., of Dunedin, has been appointed assistant lady teacher at the Marlborough High School. There were sixteen applicants for the position. The following team will represent the Dunedin City Fire Brigade at the Fire Brigades’ Demonstration to he held at Christchurch next month ! —Firemen Tonkin, Drummond, Williams, M'Kenzie, Murray, and Salmon. Admiral Beaumont has taken charge of the Australian Station. It is stated in Nelson that Mr Edward Fmney, one of the proprietors of the ‘ ColonisV is a candidate for one of the Nelson seats on the Nelson Harbor Board ; and that Mr Bjmneher, the editor of the same paper, is to be one of the Government nominees, Wake Dp, Boas.—This is only for the ear of those (if there are any) who have not yet tried Golden, t —£AdvtJ
