LAND BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Und Board, held yesterday, was attended by Messrs W. Dallas (in the chair), J. Duncan, and H. H. Kirkpatrick. . The application of John Brown for one aoie, being part of section 4, block 9, Ea;tangata district, was referred to the ranger for report. William Hambly applied for a renewal of his license over part of section 51, block 1, Rook and Pillar district. Renewed on former terms, to date from sth January. Mr A. L. Herdman, on behalf of the Idaburn Silayardß Company, applied for an area of five acres on runs 225r and 255g, upon whioh to erect yarde.—Consideration deferred.

The application of David M'Connochie, jun., for about thirty acres on the Earnscleugh Flat, adjoining the E»rnscleugh Station, under an occupation lease was declined.

It was resolved that run 17a and section 1, block S, Domet district, be offered as a pastoral run for a term of ten years at an upset rente! of £25 per annum; ranger to make valuation for improvements. Henry Birley waa granted a band-sawyer's and woodcutter's licence over twenty aores in Mount Alfred Bush, blocks 3 and 4. Dart district, for one year; license fee, £7 10a.

Frank Thomson was granted a license to cut firewood over an area of ten acres at Bay Burn, Upper Wanaka, at a royalty of Is per cord.

It was decided that the surrender of the following be recommended for the Minister's approval, the area being too small aud the ground too poor to be profitably occupied : Small-grazing run lease over sections 4 and 5, block 9, Kuriwao district, held by S. J. German, and emall-graziog run lease over sections 2 and 3, block 9, Kuriwao district, held by Mrs Annie Muir. ' The application of Mrs Lena Stafford for an occupation lease over 43 acres on Black's Flat, blook 2, Tiger Hill district, was referred to the ranger for a report. John Macdonald was granted an occupation lease over 50 acres on run 199b, Teviot district,.at a rental of Is per acre. The resolutions declaring the holdings of the following forfeited were rescinded, arrears having been paid:—H. J. and C Hansen, J. Murray, J. M'Kay, A. E. Spain." James Hore, T. Spain. Watkins, section 5, block 13, Tarras district ; applications to tranfer—R. Whyte jun., to Aon Whyte, allotment 27, Maerewhenua Eitate; Janet Whyte to Robert Whyte,'allotment 28, Maerewhenua Estate • James Whitehead to Charles Whitehead, sections 6 and 9, block 18, Maniototo district.
