CASUALTIES.
At Tologa Bay yesterday afte . *mib boys playing on the beach discovered in the surf a body in a very decomposed state, bebeved to bo that cf John Harris, lost in the vicinity six months ago. He was supposed to have been drowned whilst fording the river.
William Pitcairn,- aged fifty-six years, employed at the Islington Freezing Works, died suddenly on Thursday. Heart disease is supposed to be the cause of death.
A child named Southerns, granddaughter of Francis Gorkin, was drowned at Oraki on Thursday (says the ‘ Southland Times’). The child, who was about sixteen months old, was missed from the house, and on search being made the body was discovered at noon in a creek which runs past the house —the identical spot where an aunt of the little one was drowned some two years ago.
