SCIENCE AND ART EXAMINATIONS.
The results of the South Kensington Science and Art Department's examinations for art class teachers' and art masters' certificates, held in Dunedin in 1899, arc to hand. All who competed have been advanced a grade in the direction of obtaining an art master's certificate, and Mr D. E. Hutton, formerly assistant at the Dunedin School of Art, and now headmaster at the Wanganui Technical School, has completed his course, and been awarded the art master's certificate, which is the highest honor issued by the Science and Art Department. Works were submitted by Lena P. Bridger (1), Edward Crow (1), Caroline M. S. Hutton (1), Nellie S. D. Hutton (3), David E. Hutton (2), Henrietta Mackay (1), and Oswald Trochon (1), and, with the exception of one of Miss Nellie Hutton's, all were accepted. The competitors were all students at the Dunedin School of Art.
