ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
The bodies of a young man and woman tied together at the wriats and tbe waißts wsre found in tlw river at Enrggera (Quoens land). A note with the clothea stated that they htt.d decided to die together. A man named T. Drewett,«*thirty.one years of age, met with a fatal accident at New Plymouth on Saturday, 18th inst. He viae about to commence business as a grocer, and was getting things in readiness for opening at 8 a.m. While shifting a ladder he became faint, and fell forward on a knife he held in his hand, and which penetrated to his liver. An operation was performed, but without; avail. A verdict of accidental death was returned. James Johnstone was found dead in his hut at Nine-mile Beach, Charleston, on tbe West Coast, on the 22ad inst. The cage is supposed to be one of suicide by hanging. Deceased, who was a single man, aged about sixty-five, had been in a depressed state for some time.
James Mack, a laborer, residing in Maitland street, fell off the 5 30 p.m. train from Wingatui on Saturday, but beyond! getting a few nasty cuts about the head he was not seriously injured.
