The said book shall be hi the following form:— ■ . . ■-; , Ma - , .Further parLNo.of ticu i arßi Licensee, of Licensee, accom- • and mod ted con ditions. 7. person applying for a license shall pay the annual fee of five shillings when the house is intended to accommodate less than eleven persons, and ten shillings when the same is intended to accommodate eleven persons or more, and shall personally sign an application ui the form hereinafter Set forth. 8. A license in the form hereinafter set forth shall be granted to the person so applying, who is hereinafter termed the licensee, oy the Town Clerk, upon thereport of the City Surveyor, or any other officer appointed by the Council for this purpose, certifying that the house mentioned in the application is a fit house to be licensed and complies with all the requirement* of this By-law and any other law; withjpSopeE/applianoes for seQurjng the safety of and that such appliances are of such a nature that they may be evenly maintained and kept in order; and shall contain the same particulars as the Register of Licensed Lodging-houses, ITOMCT ond the number stated, in the license, the licensed lodging-house. J 9. A license shall be transferable by the endorsement of the Town Clerk upon the application of the transferee and upon the payment of twcaihiliinga and sixpence, and thereafter the transferee shall be'deemed to be the licensee* 10. For the purpose of entering any such further matters therein, any license may be reshall be left with him by the licensee. 12. For any refusal or neglect so to leave such license with the Town Clerk when the same has been called in, or upon any conviction of the licensee of any oifence against this ByJaw, of any crime importing dishonesty or immorality, or other crime of a disgraceful nature, the City Council may cancel a license. 13, The license shall endure until the 31st day of ™* d* te of and shall be renewed annually', and unless the air- 1 nu&l fee shalTbe paid on or prior to the Ist of unlicensed until the same is paid. 14. A ticket stating the number of lodgers allowed to be received into any such lodginghouse at one time Shall be exhibited in a conspicuous plaoe in such house to be fixed by the City Surveyor or other person appointed by the City Council. 15. The licensee shall at all times allow access to suoh house when required by any officer of police, any inspector of nuisances, or person appointed by the Council to visit or inspect such house, and any person wilfully denying, obstructing, or delaying suoh access shall be guilty of an offence. 16. No licensee shall receive therein for accommodation as lodgers-at one time more persons than he is licensed to accommodate, unless he shall have obtained, with ; respect to the number in excess ofj that mentioned in his license, a special 17. Any licensee or other person interfering with or reducing the efficiency of any means of securing safety in «ase of fire, and any licensee failing at-all times to keep such means in a perfect: state M repair and thoroughly efficient ahd-av*a&ble for use by day and night, shall be guilty of an offence. '" 19. Any keeper or any other person who shall offend J|y-Kw, or fail to do or observe anything therein expressly or impliedly enjoined, or shall do or suffer or permit to *e suffered or done anything which he is not entitled or allowed to do under the authority hereof, shall be deemed guHfcy of an offence, and for each offence shall forfeit a penalty not exceeding five pounds sterling, and a further •penalty not exceediing .five pounds for each day during which shch offence shall continue, any such penalty to tie recovered in any Court having jurMictibn hi" the matter.
