BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION TRUSTEES.

Tho weekly meeting of the Benevolent Institution Trustees was held this afternoon; present—Messrs A. Solomon (chairman), 0. Allan, R. Wilson, P. Treseder, R. Watson, J. Green, and H. Gourley. ACCOUNTS amounting to £l4O 2i lOd were passed for payment. THE LATE HON. W. D. STEWART. The Chairman stated that since the last meeting the Institution had lost one of their best friends in the Hon. W. D. Stewart, who had always taken an active part in the Institution from its earliest inception. He had continued to take an intelligent interest in the home up to the time of his death. He served as a Trustee, and had always (hown a friendly and kindly feeling in the Institution. His death was a decided loss indeed. Mr Waitson said that he had known Mr Stewart from the early sixties, and he had always looked upon him as a practical and philanthropic man. Mr Gourley thoroughly agreed with the chairman in his remarks as to the loss tho Institution had sustained in Mr Stewart’s death. RELIEF CASES About thirty relief cases were dealt with.
