LEIJON (Dredge Proprietor), Dunedin. Mr JAMES MACFIE (Jas. Mactic and Co., Ltd.), Dunedin. Secretary: F. PROCTOR, Harbor Board Buildings, Dunedin. Broker: HARMAN REEVES, Vogel street, Dunedin, to whom applications for shares must be made. THE ADDITIONAL CAPITAL is asked for in order to allow of extensive alteration being effected to the Dredge. The Dredge, up to the present, has been worked with hand winches, small buckets, etc., and it is now proposed, witli Hie additional capital, to erect steam winches, add a new belt of large buckets, j new main ladder, and put the Dredge in a \ thoroughly up-to-date and good working order. The report and opinion of the Consulting Engineers (Messrs Cutten Bros.) is most favorable to the intended alterations. GOLD RETURNS.—The returns from the Dredge as she is working at present average 9 ounces of gold per week, but have been improving, last week’s return being 10 ounces. The returns have reached 18 ounces per week. It is estimated that when the larger buckets are on, and the dredge put in thorough working order, the returns will increase nearly double. As it does not take more than 7 ounces of gold to pay all expenses, there should be a profit of at least per week. The owners of the adjoining claim, where a modern dredge is at work, are evidently satisfied with (heir returns, as they are building a second dredge. (Their returns are not made public.) THE CLAIM consists of 100 acres, 10 acres only having been dredged so far. There is al least fifteen years’ work before this Company. DIVIDENDS will be paid alike on all shares, irrespective of the amount called up. ADVANTAGES.—The Nevis Gold Dredging Company, Limited, offers—--Ist. A proved Claim, from which good payable returns can be expected. 2nd. A Dredge which will be rebuilt on the most modern principles, with all the latest gold-saving appliances, and with sufficient power and buckets to lift at least 90 tons of wash per hour. 3rd. A going and paying concern, as the Dredge will be kept at work until such time as everything is in readiness for reconstruction, and then the delay will not exceed a few weeks. 4th. Cheap working, as 7 ounces of gold per week will cover all expenses. sth. A small share capital as compared with the companies recently floated. 6th. Dividends of at least 7s 6d per share per year for the next fifteen years. The 'Directors and Broker are satisfied this venture is one of the safest mining investments that has been offered for subscription for. long time. Early application is necessary to secure an interest at par, as Shares, will be allotted according to priority of application. . There are 1,200 shares already applied for, leaving but 800 now open for subscription. Further particulars, reports, etc., can be obtained from the Broker.
