CHURCH MEETINGS.

The adjourned annual meeting of St. Mary's, Mornington, was held on Thursday last. The church officers' report was as follows, and disolosed a very satisfactory state of things :

The Committee are much gratified In being able to rpuet the parishioners in the enlarged church, and to report that, thanks to the very liberal contributions from the Ladles' Guild and other subscribers, sufficient money has been raised to defray the cost of the alterations. It is also a source of much gratification to report that the* ohurch's income shows an increase of abaut £25, chiefly in the offertories, and that the revenue has been equal to the expenditure. Altogether the parish has raised during the year upwards of £SOO, The appearance of the church has been greatly improved by the colored windows, the gifts of the late Archdeacon Fenton and two other friends. Archdeacon Fenton had been a faithful and generous friend to the church, and the Committee deeply regret his loss. The school building fund now amounts to £BS 19j. The Committee again wish to thank the Ladles' Guild, the district visitors, the Sunday school teachers, and the choir for their valuable help, and Miss Ethel Davidson for so kindly playing the organ at the week-night services.

Mr 0. H. Statham, the Sunday school superintendent, reported a substantial increase in the number of scholars on his roll.

The Vicar (the Rev. C. Bowden) expressed his gratitude for the cordial cooperation of the church workers and members of the congregation generally during the past year. He was specially pleased to see that not only had the parishioners contributed more largely to parochial objects, but had also subscribed more liberally than ever before to missions and objeots outside their own parish. The following gentlemen were elected as office-bearers for the year :—Church officers, Messrs G. Joachim and C. H. Statham ; committee— Messrs Millar, Baker, Dunnage, Allen, Chappell, Kerr, White, Birt, Wolstenholme, Holmes, Glasgow, Shirtcliffe, Clarke, and Uidea. At the same meeting it was also carried unanimously that the building of a schoolroom be proceeded with as soon as possible.
