MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
(Before E. H. Carew, Esq.', 8.M.) Joseph JM'Devifct v. Robert Mason. Claim, £l7 5s 61, balance of cash lent.—Mr A. C. Hanlon appeared for plaintiff, for whom judgment was given for the amount claimed, with costs (£1 15a 6d). Craig and Smith v. Samuel Bushell, of Palmerston.—Claim, £4 4s 4d, on a iudg. ment summons.— Mr Moore appeared for judgment creditor.—His Worship made an order for the payment of the amount, with costs (£2 11s 8d), in instalment* of £1 14* each, m default seven days’ imprisonment. Kaitangata Railway and Coal Company, Limited v. James Fox.-Claim, £lB9 15s lOd, for coal supplied.—Defendant confessed judgment for the whole of the amount except I9s oa, and counterclaimed for £65 18s 9d for coal short delivered and paid for.—Mr Fraser and Mr Holmes appeared for the coal company, and Mr Sim for Mr Fox.—The claim having been virtually confessed in full, it was decided to take the counterclaim first. The case was not concluded at 4.30 p.m.
