PERSONAL
Mr Revington, lately of the Grand Hotel, is now mine host at the Post Office Hotel, Greymoutb.
A very pleasing ceremony took place last evening in the Baptist Chapel, South Danedin, when Mr T. Ashton, on behalf of the members of the Bible Class, presented the Rev. A. Poole with a very handsome umbrella and silver pencil case on the occasion of his departure for Invercirgill. Mr Ashton, in making the presentation, spoke of the eminent services rendered to the class by their pastor, of the kindly feelings which at all times existed between the pastor and his class, and of the high appreciation in which Mr Poole was held by all, and concluded by wishing him every success in his new sphere of labor. Mr Poole (who was evidently taken by surprise) thanked the class for their veiy'handsome presents, which would be of very practical service to him elsewhere, expressed his sorrow at having to depart from those whom he had learned to love, and further said that though he would be far away they could rest assured that they would still have his sympathies and goodwill in the good work performed by the members of the class.
