Sir H. Tozer (Acting-Premier of Queensland) has received an inquiry from the Southern Governments whether, in the event of the Federal Convention adjourning for the pnrpose, he would be prepared to ask the people of the colony to elect repre. sentatives to the Convention. Sir H. Tozer haa replied that he is unable to give the assurance asked for, but if the Convention adjourned on their own motion, he would do his best in the direction mentioned.
