At Messrs J, Wilkie and Co.’s factory yesterday evening Mr George Clarke, of the artist’s department, was made the recipient by hjs fellow-employes of a handsome service on the occasion of his' approaching marriage. Mr Hawcridge, the head of the department, in making” the' presentation, referred to the friendly rela- T .tions existing between Mr Clarke and his fellow-workmen, and wished him and - his! e Y er y happiness and prosperity!' Mr Clarke suitably responded. " v •'» ■ - Mr Arrow, Naseby agent for the Bank of Wew Zealand, baa been transferred to 1) uni edm, and on the eve of his departure for town was presented with a purse of sovereigns. Mr and Mrs Arrow were also entertained by the Nasebyitea at a dance in’ the Town Hall, .
Members of the Theosophical Society intend welcoming Colonel Oloott on the arrival of the Talune at Duuedin : at noon' tomorrow.
