ROSLYN TRAM WAY EXTENSION.

TO THE EDITOR. ; : ' ' ; Sir. —“ Kaikorai Valleyite, ,? in bis letter which appeared in your colnmns onSaturday evening, while trying,;to' account fprittho requisition demanding a poll forbidding:this extension, commits himself to the statement that “ log-rolling’’ has been employed by.or on behalf of the Roslyn Tram way.Company, Limited. The words he uses are these : “A protest against the log-rolling which- has latily taken place in regard to this tramway extension concession.. :•

Well, these are ugly words, and we think wo have a right to resent them, for-we have had the-conduct of the whole of-the proceedings relating: to the application made to the Roslyn Borough Council. We must therefore ask “Kaikorai.Valleyito” to prove hia assertions, and that -he shall state specifically the charges of log-rolling to which he refers. ■ ; Ho says that these form the basis of the action. of the protesting ratepayers. He should therefore, if his statement bo correct, be in a position to formulate these charges, since so decided a step was taken;
