THE ESTATE OF JOHN DOUGLAS.
A meetiDg of creditors in the estate of John Douglas was held at Auckland yesterday afternoon. The only business was in connection with the charges on the estate made by the investigators. Mr Goulstone explained that a number of accounts were due to the estate which had not appeared in the debtor's statement, and it meant considerable work to settle them. Mr Cotter asked whether these accounts could be collected. The creditors wanted to know°what it would cost to go through the books and settle up those accounts from which they expected to get something. Mr Goulstone said they could not possibly tell what accounts were good or bad until they had posted up those accounts. It would probably take from two to three weeks longer. It was decided that Mr Goulstone be instructed to complete his investigation of the books in the bankrupt's estate at a cost not exceeding £IOO. Mr GouUtone stated that he had already handed over £203 to the Official Assignee which had been due to the estates, and he wonld have £l4O to hand in In a week or two. It was also decided that Mr Goulstone's interim report on the estate be handed to the Press.
