The president of the recent Conference of the Chambers of Commerce has spatched a cable to Premier Reid stating that the Conference had affirmed the desirability of the early laying of the Pacific cable, and asking him to seoure the 00' Operation of the Premiers of the other oolouies in making representations to the Imperial authorities on the subjeot.
