RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.
CHRISTCHURCH, October 30.
For the most part the work at Riccarton this morning was confined to steady pacing. Fabulist, Lady Zetland, and Lotion put in strong work, going well. Euroclydon and The Shrew weie not out, and Day Star was on the walking list.

CHRISTCHURCH, October 30.
Daring the pa3t few clays some transactions have been recorded in connection with the New Zealand Cup. Euroclydon ia favorite at 6 to 1, and a number of metallicians have laid their full books against him. Lady Zetland has been supported at 8 to 1, and Fabulist, after his gallop yesterday, hardened to the same price. Day Star, who had receded in the market, found a few supporters at prices ranging from 5 to 1 to 10 to 1, at which a few hundreds were taken, notwithstanding his lameness.
Bailey, of Auckland, has just completed building a new yacht for Mr Palmer, of Melbourne. She is coming down on board the Tarawera, which will arrive at Dunedin on Sunday, so that yachtsmen will be able to get a glimpse of the boat. She is a 5 rater, and the saloon iB fitted with mottled kauri panels and velvet cushions. A London cable states that the cyclists Megson, Lewis, and Payno have sailed for Australia.
