OCEAN BEACH DOMAIN BOARD.

A meeting of the Ocean Beach Domain Board was held at the Town Hall on Tuesday nigh', and attended by Messrs A. C. Eegg (chairman), T. Scott, C. Fisher, H. Gourley, and J. 11. Hancock.

The following contiibutions were received from the under-mentioned boroughs for the conservation of the Sandhills Dunedin, £2O; I’oslyn, £5 3s 61; Mornington. £2 11s 3d; South Dunedin, £2 7s 7d ; Forth-Fast Valley, £2 3s ; St. Kilda, £1 Is 7d.— It was stated that the Cavers: am Council had (-imply acknowledged the receipt i f the Board’s letter asking for a contribution and that the Maori Hill Council had taken no notice whatever of the Board’s application. It was resolved to call for tenders for the lease of the St. Clair Baths for the ensuing year ; tenders to be in not later than Monday week.

Mr F. H. Stark, the present lessee of tiro baths, wrote stating that there was a largo accumulation of sand in the baths.—Messrs Begg and Hancock were empowered to make arrangements for the removal of the sand and to get the necessary repairs to the baths effected.

It was resolved to call for tenders for painting the dressing sheds and the bathkeeper’s house ; tenders to be returned on the same day as the other tenders.

Messrs Fisher and Hancock were empowered to get marram grass planted on the Sandhilis between St. Clair and St. Kilda, and to get fascines made for the protection of the Sandhills from the encroachments of the sea.

The bank book, which was laid on the table, showed that the Board had a credit balance of £4916s Bd.

The chairman was authorised to telegraph to Mr Morrison, M.H.K., requesting him to endeavor to get a sura of, say, £2,000 voted for the protection of the foreshore at or near St. Clair.
