THE WOOL SALES.

CHRISTCHURCH, January 24.

The third wool sale of the season was held to-day, a little over 11,000 bales being offered. There was a large attendance of buyers, and -competition was brisk throughout. As compared with the previous sale, cross-breds showed a little change, coarse wools being perhaps a shade better. Merinoes, however, showed a distinct advance in values of id and Id, station clips ranging from 7d to ffd. All fellmongers' lots aroused good competition. The bulk of the wool is in good condition, being light and bright.
