Lionel Close, a young man, was admitted to the hospital to-day suffering from a fracture-of the. left Ig, caused by slipping on a stone at Leith Valley. The Mararoa made a very fast return trip from Picton last evening, coming across tbe strait in three and a-half hours. While she was coming up the harbor someone touched the lever of the hydraulic winch, and the chain and hook in ascending in the air caught a large gangway and hauled it a considerable height.
